Galatians 6:7-8 (English Standard Version)
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
This goes much deeper than money; it has nothing to do with money. It has to do with what we do all the time and how we live our lives.
What we sow has an eternal impact, for good or evil, on us.
Verse 9 tells us:
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up.
We sow into the Spirit by choosing to persevere. We make these decisions not only daily but multiple times a day. Let me give you some examples:
A man sees a pretty woman wearing clothing that reveals quite a bit. The man chooses to look and lust or bounce his eyes.
A woman has a male coworker who tells her how good she looks, and he listens to her. The woman chooses to start an emotional affair or to walk away.
When we repeatedly make choices to sin, we are mocking God, who showed us an incredible amount of mercy; we are spitting in God's face. We are mocking God. If we refuse to repent, we will be blotted out of the Lamb Book of Life. God is just God.
When we repeatedly repent and go forward away from our sins, we are walking in the fear of the Lord. Plus, we are given many things from God to overcome sin. Search the scriptures that speak to you of this.
God’s strength
God’s grace as an empowerment:
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.
The word grace here means empowerment. We see this where it says, “for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Be encouraged today. God will give you everything you need to talk in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
